Dear Ateyaji, Thanks for your prompt response. I have tried to convey four colourful situations of Holi and if they they have tickled the readers, the purpose is served. Holi is tradionally a festival meant to bond with nature and enjoy its bounties. “Hasya Kavi Sammelans”, “Moorkha Sammelans” etc are held in many parts of the country, specially this side. These are meant for 100% tax free enjoyment and brains are to be kept motgaged with banks and not carried to the sammelans. So,E..N..J.O..Y..!!

    Jitoo Sir,
Cool ! Enjoyed it and laughed and laughed. Very humorous. How did you get this idea? How did you form these short pranks? I am sure your have framed another 2 or 3 more after posting these. Your humour is a very precious treasure that can tickle thousands of nerves. Can there be one on doctors and patients? Please try. I shall enjoy reading that. I wish you and your family a very Happy Holi. Best regards.

  9. JAYA BISHT says:

sir, many wishes for holi. i have been staying in jalvayu vihar for the last three years. It is a society of navy and airforce personnels who have a penchant for celebrating occassions with grandeur. however, this time round, the whole gaiety associated with holi was sadely missing. At 9 in the morning, there were hardly two or three groups of 7-8 children fully equipped with their latest designs of pichhkaris -(hooked with twin cylinders filled with colored water and slung like a backpack) searching in vain for a victim…….. there hardly were any. they drenched some mongrels…… a maid or two……..some guards on duty and left thorougly disappointed. how we used to celebrate holi in our small towns. Making variety of papads, sweets, gujiyas, matthis etc with mom was such a joy….and holi used to be such a colourful occasion……….so o o many visitors…….singing holi songs…..dancing…. ….embracing……….laughing……….. the whole atmosphere used to be so electrifying……..where is this fervour lost. nobody visits anybody….not even next door neighbours. my small daughter filled her small bucket of water, added colour to it … took it to the terrace and was throughly enjoying herself sprinkling the water with her hands… with her small watergun and she was probably the only child in the terrace amongst a big cluster of high rises……..no company……. except her parents………… how she will know what a true holi spirit is like………will she ever get to experience it……… yes…..probably when her parents will get posted in a small town.
read your poems. third one was very good. keep writing and keep us regaled. regards jaya

    Jatinder,

Aapne tau Holi ko bhi ….Rang Di….

Holi is a long way away; Magar sab tyohar ke liye
Phool khilte rahein aapki zindagi ki rahon mei
Hasi chamkti rahein aapki nigahon mei
kadam kadam par khushi mile aapko
Yeh shubh kaamna hai hamari aapko !!

Keep reminding us of life being a celebration.
