IDEAS FOR THE NEXT 25 YEARS

My letter to BUSINESS TODAY

IDEAS FOR THE NEXT 25 YEARS

Dear Sir,

This refers to your 24th Anniversary Issue with the interesting cover story “IDEAS FOR THE NEXT 25 YEARS” (BT Jan 17th 2016). To borrow from a popular tag line: What an Idea Sir Ji !  Kudos to the BT Team for this collectors’ issue!!

Contributions from a line-up of well known stalwarts and experts from our county’s Think Tank, suggesting innovative ideas were indeed worthy of sharing with your readers. I feel you should send a consolidated list of these ideas to the PMO / PM Shri Modi ji, for information and initiation of action by concerned  ministries, for it is not enough  to just have ideas but it  is important to make them happen. The value of an idea lies in using it. Nelson Mandela is often quoted in this respect when he says: “It always seems IMPOSSIBLE until it is done” (and if we split this word it can read as:  I  M  POSSIBLE). Every new idea looks crazy at first!

John S Herrington had once said: ”There are no dreams too large, no innovations unimaginable and no frontiers beyond our reach.” So lets go at them. Edward de Bono, father of lateral thinking, is credited with another apt quote: ” It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all “.

BT, continue your long journey ahead towards your golden jubilee issue!!
